Our client was keen to improve the thermal performance of the existing property which includes an 19th century cottage which had been unsympathetically extended in the 1970's to either side of the original cottage and a large flat roof dormer.  The client also wanted to repurpose and open up the ground floor to provide a more cohesive layout.  The proposals remove the smaller 1970's extension which was no longer fit for purpose and replaces this with a new entrance with utility/boot space and a bedroom and bathroom.  The proposals also form a stronger connection with the garden and outdoor dining spaces.

The proposal is for the larger 1970's extension to be fully insulated internally.  The walls of the flat roof dormer will be insulated and the roof finish removed, insulated and re-roofed.  The existing dormers will be clad in black thermopine cladding.
