Client: Private Client

Dates: Planning submitted December 2022

Our client's were keen to improve the thermal performance of the existing property which includes an 1890's cottage with a 1979 extension to either side of the original cottage and a large flat roof dormer.  The clients also wanted to create a more open plan living / dining / kitchen space.  A ground floor bedroom and bathroom.  The proposals are to remove the smaller 1979 extension which is not fit for purpose and replace with a new entrance with utility/boot space and a bedroom and bathroom.  The proposals also form more connection with the garden and outdoor dining spaces.

The proposal is for the 1979 extension to be fully insulated internally.  The walls of the flat roof dormer will be insulated and the roof finish removed, insulated and re-roofed.  The dormers will be clad in black thermopine cladding to help reduce the impact of the cottage roof.  A new air source heating system and solar panels are also part of the renovations.
